Here are the steps to create a bubble chart in Tableau:
- Connect to the data source and drag the desired fields to the data pane. For example, if you want to create a bubble chart that shows the sales, profit, and quantity of different products and regions, you can drag the fields Product Name, Region, Sales, Profit, and Quantity to the data pane.
- Drag the field that you want to use as the x-axis to the Columns shelf, and the field that you want to use as the y-axis to the Rows shelf. For example, you can drag Sales to the Columns shelf, and Profit to the Rows shelf. This will create a scatter plot of the data points.
- Drag the field that you want to use as the bubble size to the Size card on the Marks shelf. For example, you can drag Quantity to the Size card. This will adjust the size of the bubbles according to the value of the field.
- Drag the field that you want to use as the bubble color to the Color card on the Marks shelf. For example, you can drag Region to the Color card. This will assign different colors to the bubbles according to the value of the field.
- Drag the field that you want to use as the bubble label to the Label card on the Marks shelf. For example, you can drag Product Name to the Label card. This will display the name of the product on each bubble.
- Adjust the formatting and appearance of the bubble chart as desired, such as changing the axis titles, adding filters, legends, and tooltips, and applying different styles and themes.
